The oven celebrated his birthday today Festa Major with a neighborhood participation day which gives continuity to an initiative promoted at the request of the same residents of the nucleus. The celebration, which takes place on the penultimate weekend of September, seeks to consolidate itself as a tradition of meeting and living together.
The day began with a solemn mass in the private chapel of Saint Pilgrim. Afterwards, the participants shared a popular sausage in the How of the Ovenwhere much of the celebration took place. In the afternoon, the program continued with a children’s workshop in the same space, aimed at the little ones and with the aim of completing a day open to different generations of the nucleus.
The Consul Major of Canillo, Jordi Alcobéhas emphasized that the Major Festival “consolidates an initiative that was born from the will of the residents themselves” and which is considered as “a new tradition of the nucleus”. Alcobé he also remarked on the importance of this type of celebration to promote the meeting between the neighborhood and keep the community spirit alive.
Last year, the Major Festival of the Oven had as central act the inauguration of the restored chapel of Cal Call, an 18th century building.
