A search party moved off at 8:30 this morning from the BDF Camp near Muffles College Auditorium on San Andres Street, Orange Walk, in an effort to locate 24-year-old police officer Kenyon Barrow. He has not been found.
Barrow was stationed in Orange Walk. His last known contact was on September 11. He was later captured on surveillance footage around midnight leaving his home on West San Martin Street in Trial Farm.
Concern over his disappearance has also spread online, with friends, relatives and former acquaintances appealing for his safe return. A former teacher called him “an intelligent young man” and asked for prayers for his safe return. Another described him as “a very quiet police officer” and hoped for his safety.
His mother, Therese Robinson, says his silence is out of character. She said Barrow had regularly answered her calls before he disappeared and that she became increasingly concerned about his wellbeing.
“Everybody’s concerned about him,” Robinson told News 5 on Friday. “All I want from him, if he’s safe, if he’s okay, to communicate with us and let us know that he’s okay.”
Robinson traced Barrow to a residence in the Blackwater area, where the landlord told her he had not seen Barrow in roughly two months, despite rent still being paid online. However, the rent payment that was due this past Wednesday was not made.
Robinson is asking anyone with information on Barrow’s whereabouts to contact police or reach her directly at 609-4492.
According to a police source, this is not the first time Barrow has absented himself from duty.
