2026 CWI Rising Stars Under-15 Boys’ Tournament: Windward Islands, Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana each victorious in bilateral series

After a week of competitive fixtures that showcased impressive young talent across the region, the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars Under-15 competition concluded on Monday.

Windward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and Guyana all came away with series wins under the updated bilateral structure, underlining the strength of rising cricketers in the Caribbean, according to a CWI press release.

Among the three, Windward Islands delivered the most commanding showing, completing a clean 5–0 sweep against the Leeward Islands in Antigua.

They opened with a 51-run win and followed it up with a tighter 30-run victory in the second match at Coolidge Cricket Ground.

Derwin Lewis produced the standout batting display of the tournament, scoring a brilliant 102 off 128 deliveries to guide Windward Islands to a convincing 61-run win and seal an unbeatable advantage in the series.

The tall left-hander struck eight boundaries and four sixes during his innings, helping his side post the tournament’s highest total of 217. Teammate Dylan John also impressed, leading the bowling effort and finishing with 10 wickets across the series.

The release also shared thatiIn Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago secured a 3–1 series win, with one match abandoned without a ball bowled because of rain. The opening match saw a tense two-wicket victory for Trinidad and Tobago, decided by the Duckworth–Lewis Method at Melbourne Oval.

After limiting Jamaica to 96 for 9 in a reportedly rain-shortened 34-over match, Trinidad and Tobago successfully chased, reaching 102 for 8 in the 29th over. CWI states that they later secured a dominant 39-run win in the third game, thanks largely to an exceptional spell from Arnaldo Premchand,who took seven wickets for just six runs as Jamaica were dismissed for 47 while chasing 86.

The visitors clinched the series with another 39-run victory in the fourth match at Boys Town Playing Field. Trinidad and Tobago posted 183 for 9 before bowling Jamaica out for 144 within 47 overs.

Premchand and Samir Boodoo both took three wickets each, further emphasizing their side’s control throughout the contest.

Jamaica avoided a sweep by winning the final match, recording a five-wicket victory at Melbourne Oval. Hugh Turner led the effort with a five-wicket haul, helping bowl out Trinidad and Tobago for 74. The hosts then chased down 75 for 5 with 142 balls remaining.

Premchand finished as the leading wicket-taker of the series with 13 wickets, while Turner collected nine wickets from three matches.

As per the release, in the third matchup, Guyana, playing at home, secured a 2–0 series victory over Barbados in a series impacted by severe weather.

In the second game, moved to the Police Cricket Ground, Guyana scored 137 for 8 in a 31-overs-per-side contest. Barbados were then bowled out for 61 in 21 overs, giving Guyana a dominant 76-run win, with Leon Reddy taking 4 for 8.

In Monday’s concluding fixture, Lomar Seecharan delivered another excellent bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for just 5 runs as Barbados were restricted to 79 for 9 in 20 overs while chasing a target of 116.
