Ambassador Richard Grenell, once President Trump’s special envoy with US special missions, and today close to his administration, has severely criticized the Hague Court after the decision to sentence 4 former leaders of the KLA to 81 years in prison, saying that the decision was politically motivated.
In an interview for Top Channel, he said that Kosovo does not need a court in the Netherlands to decide for this country and its people.
“Kosovo and the courts of Kosovo must decide on the future of Kosovo and on the issues that are important. We do not need a court in the Netherlands to make decisions for Kosovo.
You see that such a judgment is given and you think that it is politically influenced.
I think that the USA will do what is in the best interest of the USA and Kosovo should do the same, act in its interest, act in the name of Kosovo and not allow an international court to decide for it, but face this situation by itself.
I don’t think the US, Trump or these external problems will have anything to do with it. I think the problem is not to use courts that make politically influenced decisions.
The Prime Minister and the Parliament must decide what the next step will be. I think that the courts of Kosovo should decide these issues themselves”, said Richard Grenell.
