Qatar and Nauru signed an agreement Wednesday to establish diplomatic relations, pledging to strengthen friendship and co-operation.
The agreement was signed at Qatar’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York by Her Excellency Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif al-Thani and Nauru’s Permanent Representative to the UN Lara Erab Daniel.
Both sides affirmed their commitment to promoting mutual understanding and co-operation, guided by the UN Charter and international law, particularly the principles of international peace and security, equality among states, and respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
