The porta customs brigade seized close to 2,700 liters of contraband alcohol in the border area between France i Andorra during the summer The actions, carried out betweenJuly 11 and August 27they mainly allowed to intervene vodka and whiskeywith a commercial value of 53,849 euros and an associated taxation of 34,212 eurosas reported by L’Indépendant.
The first operation took place onJuly 11when the agents go confiscate 520 liters of alcohol. Four days later, the July 15in vain intervene another 540 liters. The August 8 one of the most outstanding performances was recorded. The customs officers located 670.6 liters of vodka in an abandoned vehicle in French territory after the driver did not stop before the agents in Andorra.
The interventions continued on August 15with 480.6 liters of vodka confiscated from a driver who had to pay a financial penalty. Two days later, officers used a spike barrier to stop a vehicle they encountered 447.4 liters of high alcoholmainly vodka and whiskey. The last performance took place on August 27when a driver was penalized for transporting 28.8 liters of undeclared alcohol. The authorities pointed out that these operations served to combat the trafficking of goods.
