SAN MARINO – Art, color and participation to redevelop the school spaces of Fonte dell’Ovo. The project which involved the children of the Public Summer Centers of the Republic of San Marino in the creation of a large walkable mural on the ground, led by the San Marino designer and writer, ended with the official presentation of the work. Davide Pagliardini.
From 20 to 31 July 2026, the young participants took part in a practical and training workshop which led to the birth of “Learn by Doing”, a lettering-style work designed to decorate and give new energy to the external spaces of the Fonte dell’Ovo Middle School.
The phrase chosen for the mural, “Learn by Doing”it means “learning by doing”: a message that seems to summarize the objective of the project, which is to allow children to acquire new skills through a concrete experience, putting themselves to the test directly in the creation of a collective work.
The initiative is part of the new summer training proposals promoted by the Education Department, with the aim of offering young people practical, creative activities with a strong social value. Collaboration with the Sammarinese paint factorywhich supported the project as a Technical Partner by providing the necessary materials.
The Director of the Education Department participated in the presentation of the work Emanuele D’Ameliothe CEO of Colorificio Sammarinese Benedetta Masi and the Principal of the Fonte dell’Ovo Middle School Remo Massari.
“The project we are inaugurating today goes far beyond simple aesthetic redevelopment: it is the result of a profound reflection that we strongly wanted to offer our children lively, stimulating and participatory spaces of expression,” he declared Emanuele D’AmelioDirector of the Education Department.
“I sincerely thank the team for their extraordinary commitment and, above all, the girls and boys who have chosen to get involved with so much passion – added D’Amelio -. With their energy and creativity, they have given us a precious gift, leaving an indelible mark that enriches and gives new soul to our entire school community”.
For Benedetta MasiCEO of Colorificio Sammarinese, color also represents a tool for valorising the territory: “Colorificio Sammarinese is part of this territory. This is why we support projects in which color is not just decoration, but becomes a tool to strengthen our identity and confidence in the future”.
The project was born from the belief that caring for common spaces contributes to strengthening the sense of belonging and collective responsibility. “Taking care of places means caring about the people who live there”, underline the organizers, highlighting how more beautiful and participatory environments can be experienced with greater respect by the community.
The work created in Fonte dell’Ovo therefore represents an example of collaboration between schools, institutions, artists and local businesses, transforming the summer period into an opportunity for growth, creativity and active citizenship.
