PBS Group, which operates the Xerox distributorship across the Caribbean and Latin America, has completed its acquisition of Trinidad Systems Limited (TSL).
The company purchased the remaining 55 per cent stake to assume full ownership of the 47-year-old local technology firm.
The deal, first announced as a partnership in 2024, now gives PBS Group total control of TSL, which will continue to operate as a separate entity under its existing brand. Customer contracts, services and support arrangements remain unchanged, the company said.
In a parallel move, TSL CEO Stuart Franco has been appointed chief operating officer for PBS Group’s Eastern Caribbean Cluster, covering Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, and other OECS member states. Franco will oversee both TSL and PBS operations in the region, reporting directly to Group CEO Pedro Paris. TSL’s existing management team will stay in place to ensure continuity.
“Our people and our customers remain at the heart of what we do, and that will not change,” Franco said. “As we look ahead, this is an important next step for TSL. Being part of the PBS Group means we can now offer our solutions to the Central and South American markets.”
Paris said the acquisition bolsters the group’s broader regional strategy.
“As PBS continues to grow, we are focused on stronger collaboration and enhancing our offering across our seven core business areas,” Paris said. “As a long-standing Xerox distributor in Trinidad and Tobago, TSL also brings a range of enterprise solutions that complement our existing portfolio.”
The move is the latest in a series of regional expansions for PBS Group, following the recent appointments of Eduardo Rodriguez as group chief financial officer and Ezequiel Bardas as chief operating officer for Latin America.
PBS Group is an engineering, technology and managed services provider operating with 3,000 staff across 24 markets in Central America, the Caribbean and South America. PBS is part of the Musson Group, controlled by PB Scott. The shares of PBS are listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange and the Barbados Stock Exchange.
TSL, founded in 1979 by Nicholas Galt, operates across diverse sectors and employs more than 250 professionals regionally.
