Dominica’s young wicket-keeper and batter Kaela George has earned a place among 22 emerging female cricketers from across the Caribbean selected for a Cricket West Indies (CWI) High-Performance Camp.
Her selection follows her impressive showing in the recently completed CWI Rising Stars Women’s Under-19 Championship.
The intensive two-week programme got underway in Antigua on August 17 and will continue through August 29.
The camp is designed to give the region’s promising young players access to specialised coaching, advanced training and valuable competitive exposure as they develop their skills at a higher level.
The initiative is also part of CWI’s preparation for the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup scheduled for 2027.
George’s selection provides an important opportunity to further develop her game and move closer to the possibility of representing the West Indies.
Reflecting on her achievement as a source of pride for Dominica, the Dominica Cricket Association announced: “We’re so proud of you, Kaela! Your determination continues to inspire, and we know you’ll make your mark on the international stage.”
