Activities of a week-long event titled ‘Air Sports Village’ kicked off in the Governorate of Dhofar on Wednesday. The event, which will run until August 17, is organised by Oman Air Sports Committee in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. The opening ceremony saw aerial displays lighting the skies, to the thrill of visitors and tourists in the governorate. The activities included paragliding, kite flying and drone demos. Dr Ahmed al Alawi, Chairman of Oman Air Sports Committee, said, “The event seeks to make air sports an integral part of the community’s culture, in addition to promoting tourism in the Governorate of Dhofar.”
