Police seized 53 kilogrammes of cannabis with an estimated street value of $1.53 million and 20 rounds of 9mm ammunition during searches in Matelot and Grande Riviere on Sunday.
The items were found in several black plastic bags in an area near the Grande Riviere Public Cemetery during an operation between 4am and 8am.
The cannabis and ammunition were seized and taken to the Sangre Grande Police Station.
Several residences and abandoned structures in Matelot and Grande Riviere were also searched under the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026.
No one was arrested.
Investigations are continuing.
