The Samoa Police have confirmed that 14 and 15 year olds were amongst the 100+ drug related arrests made between January to the 21st of Aperila 2026.
This number does not include another 100+ arrests made in November and December last year.
The update on Samoas war against drugs was made by Acting Prime Minister Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molioo during her weekly press conference with local media.
These arrests were made in areas of Upolu and Savaii, said Mulipola. “It includes police raids in the town area, at Samoa’s borders, and within villages across the country,” she said.
There is now a clear link between illicit drugs and illegal weapons, said Mulipola. Illegal firearms and ammunition are found at almost every raid.

The Prime Minister said youth as young as 14 and 15 have been arrested, demonstrating the urgent need for preventative programmes.

The Government of Australia this week donated special detection equipment worth over AUD$485k to help protect Samoa’s borders from the importation of illegal drugs.
The Government has declared a zero tolerance against drugs and the Public Service has begun compulsory drug testing.
