The session in the case of “18 righteous” was not held today. The police did not ensure the presence of Vahagn Chakhalyan and Artur Sargsyan, accused in the case, who are under house arrest. In the absence of the accused, the session cannot continue.

The defense attorneys in the case requested that the judge replace the means of restraining those under house arrest with administrative control, especially since the 10 months of the trial have proven that these people have no intention of obstructing the process of the trial. “Today already 14 people were arrested. every day during the pre-election period more people will be arrested and the policemen will objectively not be able to work in those overburdened conditions.”

Sessions in this case have already been postponed several times in the past for the same reason. The defenders reminded that the judge had previously announced that he would have to change the means of restraining those under house arrest.

The court will consider the issues of measures of disruption in the next session.
