Thousands of people have been evacuated in southwestern France due to a forest fire that has ravaged an area of more than 10,000 hectares.
On Friday, the French Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nuñez, stated that 40,000 people have either been evacuated or are being gradually evacuated.
The flames are ravaging several places in France. This applies, among other things, to the country’s south-western Atlantic coast and in the south-eastern part of the country.
In the area around Bordeaux, more than 20,000 people have been evacuated since Wednesday, AFP wrote on Thursday.
Most of them were tourists staying at campsites and holiday homes.
The flames have also forced thousands of people to flee in southern Italy and central Spain.
