The Office of Disaster Management (ODM) says it will partner with the UWI Seismic Research Centre to host a series of community meetings in Galleon, Soufrière and Scotts Head to provide residents with information on recent seismic activity and volcano awareness.
According to the ODM, the first meeting will take place in Galleon on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The second meeting will be held for residents of Soufrière and Scotts Head on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Lama Building, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The ODM is encouraging residents to attend the sessions, where they will have the opportunity to share concerns about recent activity in their communities and receive information directly from experts at the UWI Seismic Research Centre and other official agencies. The office said the meetings are aimed at strengthening community preparedness and resilience through greater public awareness, stressing that public participation plays an important role in helping communities stay informed, prepared and safe.
