The chairman of Inatsisartut, Kim Kielsen (ATT), states that he will continue to express his views in his role as chairman of Inatsisartut. He expects that it may irritate the opposition, the coalition parties or Naalakkersuisut. The chairman’s previous statement in which he defended the coalition has been criticized by the opposition.
Inatsisartut’s chairman, Kim Kielsen (freelancer), have previously defended the coalition in a press release when they were accused by the opposition of not having realized their election promises. The opposition Siumut and Naleraq were also quick to oppose the president’s statements. According to the opposition’s statement at the time, Inatsisartut’s chairman does not treat the members of Inatsisartut equally.
Inatsisartut’s chairman has now again issued a press release. He says that one must be prepared for the fact that he will express his views publicly.
– Despite the reactions, these as well as other parties must expect that, as chairman of Inatsisartut, I will also from time to time think about conditions and trends in popular government. And that I share these thoughts with the public, writes Kim Kielsen.
He now announces that it may annoy those he previously defended, namely the coalition.
– It will sometimes step on the toes of the opposition parties – sometimes the coalition parties or Naalakkersuisut. But perhaps also contribute to arousing thought and creating debate, writes the chairman.
Nothing against the opposition
The chairman of Inatsisartut emphasizes in his press release that he can well understand the opposition has criticized him for having defended the coalition. According to the opposition, the chairman of Inatsisartut put a lid on the opposition. And he admits that the criticism fits.
– My press release has also been interpreted as a defense for the coalition, and that can be said to be correct, in the sense that I point to some conditions that apply to every coalition government, and thus also the incumbent. On the other hand, I do not relate to concrete election promises from certain parties, nor would it be appropriate for an Inatsisart deputy chairman, writes Kim Kielsen.
