Team Unity Dominica (TUD) is getting set to release the names of its candidates who will contest the next general election.
The party shared via press release that the candidates will be announced during a press conference on Wednesday, July 22, at Fort Young Hotel starting at 10:00 AM.
“Our team has been preparing for this occasion over the past three years, and now we are prepared to enter the electoral arena [publicly]. At Wednesday’s event, you will meet and hear from members who have been engaged with their respective communities in several ways,” the party said through a release. “The names of multiple candidates will be announced to contest the next Dominica general elections, all of whom have resided in and participated with their constituents over the past year or more.”
TUD said the candidates have also undergone a steady regimen of preparedness training which equips them for the journey ahead.
“What is most important about the TUD team of candidates is that we are ready to help move the political narrative into a different direction,” the release stated.
While the team says it cannot reinvent the political system, they contend that the days of the old Dominican status quo politics are over and it is time for a clean slate.
“That is why our 2027 Election Campaign Slogan is ‘Clean Slate’,” the party revealed. “We do not expect that everyone who contests on a TUD ticket will never have been involved in politics, but their involvement with TUD will fall under our TUD ‘Clean Slate’ approach to politics.”
The party indicated that there will also be an opportunity to speak with its members.
“Wednesday’s event will also feature a different mode of political engagement, one where respect and collaboration have a permanent home in TUD,” the party noted.
