Young striker Amine Chiakha, the former top scorer for the Danish FC Copenhagen reserve, seems determined to return to the ranks of the Algerian national team, after the disappointment of missing the opportunity to participate in the 2026 World Cup finals due to technical choices made by coach Vladimir Petkovic.
Shaykha (20 years old) succeeded in grabbing the attention again after scoring two goals, on Saturday, to lead his team, Rosenborg, to a 3-0 victory over Start, for the 14th round of the Norwegian League. His first goal came from a penalty kick, while in his second goal he showed great skill after receiving the ball near the 18 line, and brilliantly dribbled past the defender before slotting it into the net with a powerful left shot.
With this double, the promising striker raised his tally to 6 goals in 14 matches he played this season. These are positive and acceptable numbers that will put him firmly back in the accounts of the “Desert Warriors” crew, especially in light of the scarcity of offensive options and the difficulty of finding a clear spearhead recently, after the challenges the player faced following the 2025 African Nations Finals.
It is noteworthy that Shaykha is currently playing with Rosenborg on loan until the end of this year, after which he is obligated to return to Copenhagen in Denmark, or look forward to moving to a stronger league in January 2027. The market value of the young player is 3.5 million euros, and he is linked to a long-term contract with his Danish club that extends until June 2029.
