The Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Pobbathiri Township, Zeyathiri District, the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, held the 11th disbursement ceremony of the Mya Sein Yaung (Emerald Green) Village Project Revolving Fund at the monastery in Kyantaesu Village, Phyatkhwe Village-Tract, on the morning of 14 July.
District Deputy Director Daw Soe Soe Oo of the Department of Rural Development, Zeyathiri District, met village elders and members of the village committee. She explained that the revolving fund was being provided to help reduce rural poverty and enable local people to engage in small-scale agricultural and livestock farming activities, thereby improving their livelihoods.
U Ko Ko, Township Senior Officer of the Department of Rural Development, Pobbathiri Township, explained the guidelines contained in the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project Manual, as well as the rules and regulations to be followed in the utilization and repayment of the loans. He then officially handed over K51.5 million to the Village Project Management Committee.
Subsequently, the committee disbursed the revolving fund to 108 beneficiaries in Kyantaesu Village, including K32.6 million to 64 agricultural households, K16.1 million to 38 livestock breeders, K1.5 million to three traders, and K1.3 million to three small-scale manufacturing entrepreneurs. A total of K51.5 million was disbursed on the same day under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project at a concessional interest rate. — Naw Luu (Rural)
