Naseeruddin Bahij, the commanding engineer of agricultural affairs of the said department, told Bakhtar News Agency that wheat was planted on 27,772 hectares of land in Logar this year.
According to him, strengthening of security, timely provision of agricultural services to farmers, distribution of improved seeds and chemical fertilizers, public awareness programs and development of agricultural lands are important factors for increasing wheat yield.
He added that he will speed up the efforts for the mechanization of agriculture and the self-sufficiency of the farmers, so that the level of agricultural production can increase further.
On the other hand, some farmers expressed their happiness with the increase in this year’s harvest and said that their wheat yield has increased significantly compared to previous years.
According to them, in the past, they used to get about 100 manas of wheat from one acre of land, but this year they are getting more than 200 manas from the same amount of land.
