
The spokesman of Panjsher governor, Saifuddin Sokh, told Bakhtar News Agency that once again, 3,95 carats of emerald worth 2,119,000 Afghanis were sold to the traders of the country through a tender in the presence of the mining monitoring committee, local officials and traders.
He added that thousands of carats of emeralds have been sold to businessmen of the country before this.
At the same time, Mawlavi Mohammad Qasim Amiri, head of mines and petroleum of Panjsher, said that the development of legal mining of mines in coordination with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of the Islamic Emirate and with the support of the provincial authority has provided employment opportunities for the people, helped in increasing the revenue and strengthened the process of economic self-sufficiency of the province.
It is worth noting that after the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the Panjshir emerald is sold through transparent and legal tenders and the proceeds are transferred to the state treasury.
