Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, announced the start date of the registration process for new successful students in the 2026 baccalaureate in universities.
Badari said that registrations will begin starting July 15, during a press conference he held at the Ministry’s headquarters regarding the latest developments in the circular for the guidance and registration of new students, holders of a baccalaureate degree in 2026, and upcoming university admission.
The Minister pointed out the inclusion of new educational programs and materials, including the subject of flexible emerging institutions, as well as the inclusion and dissemination of the subject of Algerian history, patriotism and citizenship. He also revealed the readiness of higher schools to receive 35,000 new students holding a baccalaureate degree in response to the request of the Ministry of National Education.
It was issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministerial circular regarding initial registration and guidance for baccalaureate degree holders Titled the university year 2026-2027, including the registration calendar, guidance methods, in addition to a set of new conditions and procedures for new students.
According to the circular, the initial registration process for those successful in the baccalaureate degree will begin starting on July 15, 2026, via the designated digital platform, where guidance is carried out according to four main criteria, which are the baccalaureate division and the results obtained, the desires of the candidate, and the absorption capabilities of university institutions, in addition to the geographic department.
The holder of a baccalaureate degree must fill out a desire card that includes a maximum of 12 choices and a minimum of 6 choices, with the obligation to include at least two tracks in the bachelor’s degree with local or regional registration. The circular also stipulates that the student can pursue two different training tracks at the same time, according to the applicable conditions, to obtain a double certificate.
One of the most prominent developments contained in the circular is the obligation of students directed to the Technological Pole schools in Sidi Abdullah to sign, before final registration, a pledge to serve for a period of five years in public administrations, institutions, or national economic institutions, if they are employed after graduation.
The circular also confirmed that final registration takes place exclusively through the PROGRES platform after paying the registration rights electronically via the gold card, before completing the procedures for benefiting from university services, such as accommodation, transportation, and scholarships, through the designated digital platforms.
The guide indicated that there are special conditions for admission to some specializations, including medical sciences and graduate schools, in addition to organizing oral interviews to enroll in graduate schools for professors and some training institutions affiliated with other ministerial sectors, while specifying special cases for transfers and late registrations according to the announced calendar.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research called on all those who passed the baccalaureate degree to carefully review the ministerial circular and adhere to the specified deadlines, in order to avoid losing their right to register or be directed towards the desired specializations.
It is noteworthy that more than 876 thousand candidates passed On June 7 last, The baccalaureate exam took place across the various states of the country, including 588,615 students and 287,586 students, and this is at the level of 2,973 procedure centers, awaiting the announcement of the results.
