Graduates with disabilities are also eligible to apply vacant civil servant positions if they meet requirements, under the right to the employment equality, said the Union Civil Service Board’s Chair U Tin Maung Win.
He told it in the second regular session of the third Amyotha Hluttaw held on 6 July. Young graduates with disabilities will have the right equally to sit written test, mental test and interview together with other candidates and they will have opportunity to become civil servants if they are selected by the relevant selection team, he said.
In addition, the Union Civil Service Board has planned to amend the recruitment process in order to make it more efficient.
“Starting from 2026-27 fiscal year, new gazetted officer positions will be called once in four months or three times per annum, previously it was called two times per annum,” he said.
Making amendments to the recruitment process can help it more efficient and it can also bring more opportunities for qualified young people, he added.
