Voting offices were closed in the framework of the 2026 legislative elections, across all electoral districts within the country. After voting was extended for one hour until eight o’clock in the evening, the counting of voters’ votes began.
The Independent National Election Authority said in… statement, The decision to delay the closing of voting offices was taken “at the request of state coordinators.”
The participation rate in the legislative elections reached 11.24 percent inside the country, and 9.46 percent outside the country, as of 15:00.
More than 24 million voters are summoned to participate in these elections, including more than 850,000 voters abroad. To select 407 representatives in the National People’s Assembly.
793 electoral lists, including 9,854 candidates, are competing in this national election across various electoral districts within the country. Of these, 613 lists belong to 32 political parties, one list belongs to an alliance, and 125 are free lists.
