The fear of the next trip was apparently greater than the worry of being locked in the car in the heat. Two minors locked themselves in a vehicle at a gas station in Remerschen on Saturday because they said they feared their mother’s dangerous driving style. This emerges from the police bulletin from Sunday.
Mother drank alcohol
Police were informed of the incident at around 5pm on June 27th. On scene, officers discovered that the children were in the car. The mother was nearby and initially hindered the police officers’ attempts to free the children from the car, it is said.
The patrol noticed that the woman was “heavily intoxicated” and then carried out an ethyl test: The result was positive, as expected. The children told officers that they had used their mother’s brief absence at the gas station to contact their father. He arrived a little later and took over the care of the two minors.
The mother was taken to the office for further official business and was also given a temporary driving ban.
