Finland does not comment about the status of its weapons stockpiles or acquisitions, according to Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen (NCP).
The US has suspended arms deliveries to Estonia, according to Estonian public broadcaster ERR.
Estonia’s Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur said that Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth told him by phone that the US would be suspending all arms deliveries to Estonia, ERR reported on Tuesday.
The broadcaster cited a Reuters report saying that the United States had paused defence equipment deliveries as it is engaged in its war with Iran.
Pevkur said the main issues the situation is causing are related to HIMARS (light multiple rocket launcher) ammunition and Javelin missiles.
However, Finland’s situation in this regard is unclear.
On Tuesday, Finnish PM Petteri Orpo (NCP) said “this has no impact on Finland’s defense capabilities”.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen (NCP) said that Finland does not comment on the status of its weapons stockpiles or acquisitions.
The defence ministry told Yle that the US has not yet confirmed whether Finland’s orders for weapons would also be suspended. However, during official-level communications, the US has generally said that there may be delivery delays.
According to publicly available records on arms sales, Finland agreed last year to acquire missile and rocket launcher systems from the US used in, for example, fighter jets.
