Former Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali held a meeting today at the Political Academy of the Albanian Forum in Podgorica.
In a post on Facebook, Spiropali writes that in Podgorica she saw something bigger than a group of young people, she saw what she called the ‘new Albanian’.
“The young Albanian has several other missions, such as the victory of knowledge over ignorance, of merit over privilege, of freedom over submission, of work over waiting”, writes Spiropali, the sentence taken as a “thorn” for Edi Rama at a time when thousands of citizens are protesting below his office and demanding his resignation.

My heart swelled with energy at the Political Academy of the Albanian Forum, where I saw something much bigger than a group of young people.
I felt the young Albanians.
It’s not just an age, it’s a mindset. That boy and girl who don’t measure themselves by what they have, but by what they know. That does not ask “who do I know”, but “what can I build”. The new Albanian is the model that our nation has been waiting for for centuries, but only today has the courage to call for it. I saw it among young Albanians in Montenegro, but in fact the ‘new Albanian’ is found wherever there are Albanians!
Generations before us fought to break free and survive. They gave us the language, the flag, the identity, and we are eternally indebted to them.
But the young Albanian has several other missions, such as the victory of knowledge over ignorance, merit over privilege, freedom over submission, work over waiting.
This is the vision that unites us, Albanians of the same blood, wherever our hearts beat, in Tirana and Tuz, in Ulcinj, Plavë, Guci, Skopje, Preševo and Pristina, in every corner of the world.
Developed, free. The future belongs to those who dare.
Thanks to the Albanian Forum that is feeding this spirit. Thank you to young Albanians everywhere. You are proof that our Nation has not only a glorious past, but also a future that will make us proud.
