In the spirit of youth; With a forward-looking view of the future; His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, Crown Prince, was keen to work with a firm vision for Jordan’s technological future. It included comprehensive digital transformation to enhance Jordan’s position as a regional center for innovation.

The vision of His Highness the Crown Prince for digital transformation and technological progress was an incentive to create and promote a number of national projects digitally. Presenting Jordan as an advanced center in the region; And what presents the Jordanian youth according to his interests in the age of technology and technical creativity.

The National Council for Future Technology has been formed. In line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, with the close follow-up of His Highness the Crown Prince, who follows up on the progress of work on his projects and chairs its periodic meeting, and to be a comprehensive national umbrella to coordinate efforts and accelerate digital transformation in Jordan; Linking policies to executive projects that have a direct impact on the economy and society.

For his part, the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Vice President of the National Council for Future Technology, Engineer Sami Samirat, said that the National Council for Future Technology represents a national platform to direct the Kingdom’s efforts in the fields of advanced technology and artificial intelligence, enhance integration between the public and private sectors, and accelerate the implementation of national initiatives that support innovation, capacity building, and attracting quality investments.

He said that the Council worked during the last period to launch a package of qualitative initiatives in the fields of artificial intelligence, data and advanced technologies, advance digital transformation projects, improve the quality of government services provided to citizens, and provide job opportunities for young people.

He said that the Ministry continues to implement the goals of the digital transformation program in the Kingdom, as more than 83 percent of government services that can be digitized have been digitized, and work is continuing to reach 100 percent by the end of the current year 2026, which contributes to simplifying procedures, improving the quality of government services, and raising the efficiency of government performance.

He added that the (Sanad) application continues to consolidate its position as the unified national digital platform for government services, as the number of digital ID activators has exceeded 2.777 million users, while more than 400,000 users use the application daily, while new government services continue to be added continuously, keeping pace with the needs of citizens and enhancing the experience of obtaining digital government services.

He stated that digital signature and electronic notary services have brought about a qualitative shift in the completion of government transactions, as more than 500,000 government transactions and documents were created or approved using the digital signature, in addition to the expansion of electronic notary services, which enabled citizens to complete many judicial transactions digitally, with ease and reliability, without the need to review the courts in many cases.

Smirat stressed that the Ministry is also continuing to implement a number of strategic national projects, launch new digital government services and develop existing services, in a way that enhances the efficiency of the public sector and improves the quality of services provided to citizens.

Smirat pointed out that government service centers continue to provide their services to citizens through 15 centers distributed in various governorates of the Kingdom, according to an integrated model that includes a large number of government services in one place, which contributes to facilitating citizens’ access to services, improving the quality of service, and enhancing the efficiency of government performance within specific standards to ensure citizen satisfaction and in the field of artificial intelligence.

Smirat pointed out that the Ministry is working to circulate the Siraj educational platform, developed with artificial intelligence and designed according to the Jordanian curricula, as the number of its users as of last May of the current year reached one million and 331 thousand users in the context of employing artificial intelligence techniques to support the educational process, develop learning methods, and empower students with modern educational tools.

The (Sanad) application witnessed several updates aimed at simplifying procedures and accelerating access to services, the most prominent of which are self-activating the digital identity, updating data, changing the phone number, and resetting the password electronically, in addition to developing the display of digital documents and allowing access to documents without an Internet connection using the fingerprint.

Smirat stressed that the Ministry is also continuing to implement a number of strategic national projects, most notably the government electronic portals project, the electronic passport, and the Jordanian Digital Health Center, in addition to continuing to launch new digital government services and developing existing services, in a way that enhances the efficiency of the public sector and improves the quality of services provided to citizens.

The next phase, according to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Leadership, focuses on implementing the National Strategy for Digital Transformation 2026-2028, expanding the use of artificial intelligence, developing the digital infrastructure, enhancing cybersecurity, and increasing the adoption of digital government services, in addition to supporting leadership, investment, and technology.

Jordanians residing outside the Kingdom were also given the opportunity to activate the digital identity and benefit from the application’s services, and the “Sanad Lite” application was launched to enable users to benefit from the services, especially in cases of limited storage space or incompatibility of some devices and systems with the “Sanad” application.

The Ministry continues to implement a number of initiatives and projects that support digital transformation, including preparing maps to automate activity books for all grades as part of the curriculum digitization project, and implementing awareness workshops for the Crown Prince Award for the Best Application for Government Services with the participation of 809 male and female students.

Efforts within the “Jordan Growth” project in its second phase included providing 200 job opportunities, training 120 beneficiaries via digital platforms, supporting 15 emerging and small companies, in addition to approving the draft law amending the Real Property Law of 2026, and launching new services within the framework of automating the services of the Department of Lands and Survey, which contributes to improving the quality of services.

For his part, Al-Ayn Muhammad Daoudia, Chairman of the National Information and Guidance Committee in the Senate, said that Jordan is witnessing today a pivotal stage in the digital transformation process, driven by an ambitious royal vision and the close follow-up of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the faithful Crown Prince, whose auspicious birthday we celebrate today, the Crown Prince who is leading a national trend aimed at creating a qualitative leap in technological life and the digital economy.

Daoudia stressed that the importance of His Highness the Crown Prince’s directives lies not only in adopting technology, but in transforming it into a tool for comprehensive development and improving the quality of life of citizens. This vision has contributed to accelerating the digitization of government services.

To achieve a real qualitative leap in the digital transformation process, it is necessary to focus on four main axes: First, investing in human capital by providing young people with artificial intelligence skills, programming, and advanced technologies. Secondly, strengthening partnership between the public and private sectors to stimulate innovation and attract quality investments. Third, developing the digital infrastructure and enhancing cybersecurity to ensure a safe and sustainable digital environment.

Fourth, supporting entrepreneurship and emerging companies to enable Jordan to transform into a regional center for digital services and software.

His Highness the Crown Prince’s follow-up of technology and artificial intelligence files sends a clear message that Jordan’s future will be based on knowledge and innovation, and that investing in people and technology is the best way to build a more competitive and prosperous economy for future generations.

For his part, Engineer Ahmed Hiasat, former head of the National Council for Cybersecurity, said: I believe that achieving a real leap in digital transformation in Jordan is not limited to converting services into electronic services, but rather requires building an integrated digital environment that supports innovation and creativity. This requires developing the digital infrastructure, updating legislation to keep pace with technological development, and paying attention to qualifying young people in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and programming, because they have become among the most important requirements of the labor market. Strengthening cooperation between the government, universities and the private sector, and supporting emerging companies and scientific research, will contribute to accelerating this transformation and achieving tangible results.

Al-Hayasat said that the directives of His Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II constitute an important pillar in this path, because they focus on investing in people before technology, especially youth, and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship and linking education to the needs of the labor market. This trend was reflected in many national initiatives that supported digital skills, programming, and artificial intelligence, and contributed to establishing a culture that technology is not a goal in itself, but rather a means to achieve economic development, enhance Jordan’s competitiveness, and create quality job opportunities for future generations.
