A fatal accident occurred at around 6.50am on Route de Mondorf in Remich, when a tractor was involved in a serious crash. While the initial bulletin by the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) mentioned an injured person, police later confirmed that the driver of the tractor, a 67-year-old man, had died.
According to police, the man likely lost control of his vehicle after suffering a medical episode. The tractor then collided with a car parked at the side of the road, struck a safety post, and then crashed into a wall.
Emergency responders from the CGDIS removed the man from the tractor’s cab, performed resuscitation at the scene, and transported him to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Fire in Wasserbillig
Shortly before 9am, the CGDIS was also called to a vegetation fire on Grande Rue in Wasserbillig. No injuries were reported in this incident.
