In recent years, Prekmurje and the wider Pomurje region have increasingly strengthened their position among Slovenian destinations that focus on quality instead of quantity. The region, which for a long time was mainly known for thermal tourism, today also attracts visitors with top cuisine, wine offer, cycling and hiking experiences, rich cultural heritage and authentic stories of the local environment. The development of tourism in the region increasingly follows the principles of sustainability, connecting local providers and creating experiences with higher added value.

A new tourist attraction also fits into this story. The Sončno polje boutique hotel was recently officially opened in Tešanovice near Moravske Toplice, which represents an important strengthening of the tourist offer of the Pomurje destination. With its location in the local environment, use of natural materials, sustainable design and emphasis on the authentic experience of Prekmurje, the hotel complements the existing offer and contributes to the further development of green and adventure tourism. The hotel continues the development story of the project, which was designed as a sustainable accommodation investment in the heart of Prekmurje.

Connecting the local environment and developing experiences

The new accommodation offer represents more than just additional hotel capacities. Sončno polje is designed as a place of peace, locality and contact with nature, intended for guests looking for a quality stay, authentic experiences, local cuisine and a starting point for exploring the natural and cultural heritage of Prekmurje.

The special value of the project is its strong connection with the local environment. The hotel opens up new opportunities for cooperation with local farms, winemakers, artisans, restaurateurs, cultural institutions and experience providers. In this way, it strengthens local supply chains, encourages the development of new tourist products and contributes to greater recognition of the entire region. The hotel also complements the rich tourist offer in the area of Moravske Toplice and Tešanovci, where thermal tourism, gastronomy, rural tourism, cultural heritage and outdoor activities are intertwined. In the immediate vicinity, there are many recognizable sights, including the Plečnik Church in Bogojina, the Church of St. Martin in Martjanci, the Rotunda in Selo, Lake Bukovnica, as well as numerous wineries, tourist farms and handicraft workshops.

The official opening was also attended by a representative of the Slovenian Tourist Organization Aleksandra Jerebic Topolovecwhich emphasized the importance of such projects for the development of Slovenian tourism. “Each new quality tourism story is an important asset for a destination, especially when it respects the space, heritage and identity of the local environment. With its design, the boutique hotel Sončno polje complements the tourist offer of Moravske Toplice and opens up new opportunities for guests looking for authentic, sustainable and interesting experiences. At the Slovenian Tourism Organization, we welcome projects that strengthen the visibility of destinations through high-quality and responsible tourism offers. We believe that Sončno polje will make a significant contribution to the further development of tourism in the destination,” stressed Aleksandra Jerebic Topolovec at the opening.

New added value for the Pomurje destination

Sončno polje offers guests 19 accommodation units with a total of 65 beds, a restaurant, relaxation areas with saunas, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and conference rooms for business meetings, seminars and events. With this, it appeals to both leisure guests as well as the segment of business meetings and smaller events, while maintaining a boutique character and an emphasis on quality user experience.

The location itself also has a special meaning. Tešanovci is located at the junction of Ravenski, Dolinski and Gorička, three distinctively different areas of Prekmurje, which together offer an extremely diverse tourist experience. The hotel therefore represents an important starting point for the development of integral tourist experiences that connect nature, cuisine, culture, outdoor activities and the local way of life.

The opening of the Sončno polje hotel means new added value for the Pomurje tourist destination. With it, the region acquires a boutique accommodation story based on sustainable construction, respect for the cultural landscape, local identity and close connection with the environment. Such projects increasingly mark the development of Slovenian tourism, which bets on quality, responsibility and locally colored experiences, and strengthens the visibility of Slovenia as a green and authentic tourist destination, the STO is convinced.
