At least 70 surnames of players appear on the list of “keywords” used by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office in the investigation into an alleged network of exploitation and facilitation of prostitution that provided services to footballers, including from Serie A, without any of them being investigated.
According to local media reports this Wednesday, these names, corresponding to both established players in the highest category of professional soccer and young athletes, were included in search and seizure warrants to analyze mobile phones in search of evidence.
Serie A players
Among them would be players from Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Verona, Torino or Sassuolo, among others. The Milan authorities are now trying to verify, through the analysis of conversations and communications, whether some of the athletes were able to attend events organized by those allegedly responsible for the network and, if applicable, whether they made use of additional paid services.

The inclusion of the surnames responds to their appearance in wiretaps and other elements collected during the investigation, which focuses on determining the existence of an organized structure dedicated to managing and exploiting encounters with women, and not on the behavior of the alleged clients.
In any case, the eventual status of clients on the part of the players would not imply criminal liability, as confirmed last Tuesday to EFE by the Guardia di Finanza (Italy’s financial police).
It is not a crime in Italy
In Italy, paying for sexual services or prostitution carried out voluntarily is not considered a crime; however, criminal legislation does punish those who organize, facilitate or financially benefit from this activity.
The investigation, led by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office, has so far resulted in four people under house arrest, accused of managing a network that exploited prostitution and managed nightlife events also with “laughing gas”, a recreational drug used to cause a quick feeling of euphoria and disinhibition.
“All inclusive”
As explained by the Guardia di Finanza Economic and Financial Police Unit to this agency, the organization offered “all-inclusive” packages for several thousand euros that included dinners in exclusive venues, accommodation in high-end hotels and the company of women.
The network operated under the guise of an events agency based in the Milan metropolitan area, which for years organized parties while simultaneously managing the recruitment of women, including professional escorts.
