You say the two best teams in the league. Presumably the Vikings are one of the best teams in the league after tonight’s win, right?
“Yes, of course I think so. But we need to keep going. It’s only six points ahead and there’s a lot left in this league. Six points can go quickly and we need to keep going.”
The Vikings have conceded six goals in the league this summer and you are the first team to keep a clean sheet against KR. Are the Vikings invincible?
“We’ve gone about 20 league games in a row without losing. That must be saying something. But our defense is strong. We still conceded three goals more than we needed if you ask me. But our defense is extremely strong.”
KR have scored 38 goals this summer, the most of any team. How did you prepare the defense for tonight’s match?
“KR is an extremely good team that rotates a lot and moves a lot. It’s extremely difficult to deal with them and requires a lot of concentration throughout the game. We knew what they wanted to do, but it’s one thing to know it and then know how to react to it. It’s no joke to deal with them. We put a lot of work into planning the defense against them both in video meetings and in training outside the field. Based on the result, it seems to have been successful well and almost flawlessly.”
You scored two goals against them. Are you happy with the attack?
“Yes and no. We may score a little lucky goal in the first half and the second goal comes after high pressure. We weren’t quite playing our game offensively as we would like.
