The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced that Libya’s oil production has reached its highest level since 2013, with total daily output of crude oil and condensates rising to 1,487,723 barrels per day (bpd), bringing the country closer to its target of 1.5 million barrels per day.
According to the NOC, crude oil production reached 1,438,560 barrels per day on Sunday morning, while condensate output stood at 49,163 barrels per day, bringing total production to nearly 1.49 million barrels per day.
The announcement was made during a meeting held at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli, chaired by NOC Chairman Massoud Sulaiman and attended by board members, heads of boards and management committees of operating and affiliated oil companies, as well as directors of relevant departments.
Sulaiman described the production level as a significant achievement for Libya’s oil sector, praising the efforts of workers across oil fields and production sites whose continuous work helped increase output despite the operational challenges facing the sector.
He also commended the role of technical and specialized departments in monitoring operations around the clock, swiftly addressing obstacles, and providing the necessary support to personnel at production sites, ensuring uninterrupted operations and the achievement of interim targets.
The NOC chairman stressed the importance of continuing production growth at the same pace, affirming that the corporation aims to reach its planned production targets before the end of 2026, in a move expected to support the national economy and strengthen the contribution of the oil sector to the country’s development efforts.
