KUWAIT CITY, June 23: Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education Hamad Al-Hamad confirmed that the Grade 12 exams are proceeding smoothly in all examination centers. Al-Hamad made the statement on Monday, when he visited Abdulaziz Al-Babtain School in Jahra Educational District to monitor the progress of the high school exams on the fourth day.
The students took the Islamic Education exam. He pointed out the positive indicators reflecting the level of preparation, organization and commitment shown by the students and school administrations. He affirmed that the ministry is keen to monitor the exams and ensure a suitable environment for students in the examination centers. He said the initial impressions and student feedback proved satisfaction with the level of the exam, similar to previous exams that witnessed positive reaction and outstanding performance from students. He revealed an increase in the passing rates for the exams graded so far, emphasizing that the preliminary results are encouraging and reflect the efforts exerted by students throughout the academic year. He stated that the students’ adherence to examination regulations and procedures decreased cheating and disqualification cases compared to previous years. He asserted that the discipline observed in the examination committees proves the students’ level of awareness and responsibility.
He commended the efforts of school administrations and examination committee staff, as well as the organization witnessed in the schools in the district during the examination period. He revealed that the district includes 24 secondary schools, 10 for boys and 14 for girls, with an estimated total of 7,900 Grade 12 students taking the exams — 5,400 in the science stream and 2,400 in the humanities stream. He added that the district also hosts students from several private schools, with six private schools taking their exams in public school buildings. These include four boys schools and two girls schools, totaling about 1,200 students. He confirmed the commitment of the ministry to implement the directives of Minister of Education Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei to provide all means of comfort and support for students during the exam period, thus, creating a suitable environment for taking exams.
