The Broad Front deputy Sebastian Valdomir apologized to the nationalist Jorge Larrañaga Vidal for calling him “son of a failure“, alluding to his father, the former Minister of the Interior Jorge Larrañaga, died in 2021.
Valdomir noted on his X account (formerly Twitter) that he apologized for “having become personal in a political discussion about public safety.
“There will always be differences on this issue but you cannot cross that line“, wrote.
Valdomir argued on social networks with several opposition leaders over the announcement by the Minister of the Interior, Carlos Negro, that National Army vehicles They will support the Police in operations in dangerous neighborhoods.
The debate began with the white legislator Pablo Abdala, but then continued with the leader of the Independent Party, Pablo Mieres, the Colorado deputy Gabriel Gurméndez and Larrañaga Vidal.
Valdomir in repeated messages he referred to Larrañaga as a failure. “A FRA CA SA DO. In the middle of the pandemic, he closed two years that ultimately resulted in the government period with the most homicides in history. Failed Larrañaga, Heber, Martinelli, Maciel, González, Capretti, etc etc,” he wrote, for example, in response to a tweet from the former president of the police union, Patricia Rodríguez (today a member of the National Party).
But the tweet that generated the greatest impact was the one he wrote to respond to Larrañaga Vidal, whom he called “the son of a failure.” The post was later deleted.
Larrañaga Vidal, for his part, closed the issue.
