J confirmed. US Vice President DeVance made progress in the ongoing talks with Iran, praising the role played by the State of Qatar and Pakistan in supporting the technical negotiations between the United States of America and Iran.
He said in statements he made after talks in Switzerland that the Burgenstock meetings achieved important progress in the files at hand, adding that the meetings succeeded in reaching a coordination mechanism that ensures the continued flow of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, including addressing any challenges that may obstruct the navigation movement and preventing them from turning into escalation, which contributed to resuming the flow of oil and natural gas shipments through the Strait.
He pointed out that the meetings also established a regional coordination mechanism aimed at supporting the establishment of a ceasefire and dealing with any security developments that the region may witness, thus contributing to containing tensions and enhancing security and stability.
The US Vice President pointed out that Iran had agreed to invite the International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to return to Iran, describing this step as an important advance in the course of negotiations related to the Iranian nuclear program.
