“We emphasize the activation of cultural life in the regions, and this festival includes that component. It attracts film lovers on the spot, performs an important cognitive and educational work. Another important circumstance is that the festival is not cut off from the outside world, it has international significance and year by year we see how the geography of participation expands,” said Daniel Danielyan.

This year, the 9th Yerevan International Short Film Festival received applications from 95 countries. Artyom Baghdasaryan, program director of the Yerevan International Short Film Festival, noted that 39 films from 22 countries were included in the competition program.
“This year there was also a large selection of Armenian films. I remember that in the first year of the festival, 3-4 films were accepted, which did not even look like a film. Today I am proud to say that in terms of quality, we have such films that we show alongside films that participated in the competition program of the A class, Venice, Berlin, Cannes and other similar festivals and won awards. By the way, the festival is the first in the region to accept films made with artificial intelligence,” said Artyom Baghdasaryan.

The competition program of the film festival includes: “International Program”, “National Program”, “Student Program”.
