Moldova and the EU
At the EU-Moldova summit in Brussels announced on the allocation of a new tranche to Chisinau from the general package of financial support (€1.9 billion), agreed in February 2025. In particular, €232.7 million will be allocated for the reconstruction of the strategically important Porumbrei-Comrat highway, another €11 million – for strengthening resistance to hybrid threats and €17 million – for the development of border infrastructure.
Meanwhile, President Maia Sandu, after the European Council did not support the accelerated start of negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the EU, statedthat the country is “ready to open all negotiating clusters” and the process should begin “immediately.” To which the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, emphasized that the advancement of candidate countries depends on their own achievements.

And Foreign Minister Mikhail Popshoi, who also participated in the summit, statedthat the European integration of Moldova and the reintegration of the Transnistrian region must go in parallel, otherwise Moscow “will actually receive a veto on our accession to the EU.”
Dodon and PACE
PSRM leader Igor Dodon reportedthat this week he intends to speak at a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg and talk, among other things, about the “glorification of Nazism in Moldova.”
Vlach and EU sanctions
Leader of the Heart of Moldova party Irina Vlah after being included in the EU sanctions list sent letter to the diplomatic corps accredited in Moldova. In it, she rejected accusations of connections with Ilan Shor and organizing protests, noting that the sanctions imposed against her “are not based on evidence.”
Cheban: London, Nikushor Dan
Mayor Ion Ceban went to London, where, according to him, he will discuss with senior officials and the leadership of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development the financing of infrastructure projects in Chisinau, including the expansion of Mircea cel Batrin Boulevard.

And Romanian President Nicusor Dan, commenting on Ceban’s meetings with Romanian mayors, statedthat the mayor of Chisinau was received “out of politeness.”
Referendum in Kosnitz
In a referendum in the commune of Cosnica, more than 95% of residents supported a ban on the transfer of agricultural land near the villages of Koshnitsa and Pogrebya for mining. According to preliminary data, 1,466 people voted for the ban, 66 against.
Military exercises
In Moldova in July, September and October will pass military exercises with the participation of reservists. According to the Ministry of Defense, the exercises are needed to test the skills of reservists and familiarize them with the equipment and weapons of the National Army.
Compensation in the Security Zone
Residents of settlements in the Security Zone on the Left Bank of the Dniester, controlled by Chisinau, received compensation for energy resources totaling almost 38.8 million lei during the cold season of 2025–2026. Ministry of Health and VAT on medicines
Minister of Health Emil Ceban criticized the government’s intention to increase VAT on medicines, saying that this would “destroy Moldova’s healthcare system.” According to him, the Ministry of Health has already prepared a negative opinion on the draft fiscal policy, which provides for an increase in VAT.

The Moldretail Group company, which owns the Linella, Fidesco, Cip Market, Bravo and Slavena Megamarket networks, intends buy the Merci grocery store chain. In connection with the transaction, the Competition Council launched an audit to assess its impact on competition in the market.

In Moldova from June 24 will expand list of places where smoking is prohibited. Smoking will not be allowed at bus stops, beaches, sports grounds, as well as in entrances, elevators and on the balconies of apartments and hostels.
National Anti-Corruption Center spent searches of the chairman of the Taraclia region in the case of possible fraud in government procurement. The damage to the budget is estimated at 3 million lei.
In Moldova today announced Code yellow for heat: temperatures will rise to +35°C in some places. Rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are possible in the north and center of the country.
