The Central Board of Directors (They code) of the National Administration of Public Education ( ANEP) resolved that as of Wednesday, schools, high schools and UTUs throughout the country would return to roll call normally, after the multiple threats and intimidating messages received in educational centers.
In recent days, several education centers in Canelones, Maldonado, Lavalleja and Montevideo were affected by the appearance of graffiti on the walls with bomb threats and shootings.
For these facts more than five students fellone of them in Santa Lucía, two others in Punta del Este and Pan de Azúcar, another in Minas and one more in Montevideo.

Given this, and after confirmation by the Ministry of the Interior that there was no real latent threat behind the threats, the authorities decided to resume the roll call and insistence accountingEl País reported in the first instance and Codicen sources confirmed to The Observer.
Hours ago, the ANEP released a statement in which it issued a series of recommendations indicating how to act when faced with the detection of threats or intimidating messages.
As to general measuresthe administration suggested the following:
- Notify the authorities of the educational center.
- Collaborate with the instructions given from the center.
- Dialogue to stay calm.
- Do not viralize or encourage the repetition of this type of messages.
After this, the ANEP disclosed more specific recommendations for each of the actors involved:
- Educational center authorities: make the complaint to the Ministry of the Interior.
- Teachers and management officials: accompany from “serenity and listening”, avoiding unnecessary alarms, transmitting “confidence for the students.”
- Families: Invitation to “reflection and awareness” on the “critical and responsible” use of social networks with adolescents.
- Students: invitation to “dialogue and reflect” with their peers and their “adult references” in the face of these situations so that educational centers “continue to be a place of meeting, enjoyment and significant learning.”
