The “Tautumeitas” sauna celebrates the release of the solstice album and invites you to a concert ritual

Ringing in the week of the summer solstice, the group “Tautumeitas” has released the album “Līgojami” – a musical tribute to the most magical time of the year, in which the songs of Ligo have acquired a modern and energetic sound. The accompanying single of the album is the title track “Lígojami”.

The release of the album “Daughter of the nation” celebrated together with friends and cooperation partners in the community sauna “Miers” in Andrejost, “where on the banks of the Daugava, accompanied by summer rain, songs from the new album were played and sauna rituals were enjoyed”.

In fact, the rain was not summer, but more like traditional Midsummer rains. “Tautumeitus” leader Asnate Rancāne joked that they wished album The launch of “Ligojami” should be celebrated in the true spirit of Midsummer’s Day, but perhaps they overdid it – such rain was not planned… It did not prevent the gathered people from feeling good, because “service umbrellas” were distributed, thus the small concert of “Tautumeitus” on the improvised stage of the sauna could be watched and listened to without sorrow. The singers also decided to be closer to the guests for a while, so despite the rain, they got closer to the audience with bare feet and left the shelter of the canopy.

“Ligojami” is the first album of “Tautumeitus” that is completely dedicated to it solstice for the subject. It contains songs rooted in Latvian Christmas traditions, natural rhythms and solstice rituals. Already on Friday, on the night of June 19 to 20, the group invites the audience to the annual “Dawn Concert Ritual”, which this time will be held on Sveikuļi hill on the Tukum side. This year, the concert ritual will be held for the third time, continuing to create a new tradition of celebrating the solstice. Along with “Tautumeitas”, the Saulkrasti Pearl Choir, Lithuanian experimental folk music artist Petunija, as well as folklore and ancient fighting group “Wolves” will take the stage, while the scenography will be complemented by signs and symbols of St. John’s Day.

Unlike the time of the album presentation event, currently the weather forecast promises warm weather, so a real solstice holiday mood will reign on Sveikuļi hill. “The group “Tautumeitas” invites you to prepare for the most special night of the year – weave wreaths, gather your loved ones and indulge in a joint celebration to experience the magic of the summer solstice accompanied by music, fire and sunrise!”
