CHENNAI – The Muslim League ended its alliance with the DMK and joined hands with the ruling party TVK. The IUML state general council meeting on Friday decided to sever ties with the DMK. 14 resolutions were passed in the General Council attended by 481 members. IUML National President K.M. said that the decision to end the alliance with the DMK in Tamil Nadu was one of the important resolutions. Qader Moiteen said.
Stating that it is not possible to continue the relationship with the DMK alliance in the current political situation, Yogi clarified that Khader Moiteen is supporting the TVK government and will be a part of the government. He added that the IUML meeting has assured that a decision on the alliance will be taken only after the by-elections and local self-government elections are officially announced.
IUML was part of DMK for more than 59 years. He has contested and won local government, assembly and parliamentary elections under DMK. The Dravidian model supported the formation of the government and worked to make Stalin the Chief Minister. But Khader Moiteen said that the changing political conditions prompted a change in strategy and that Vijay made history.
