Artur Poghosyan presented the report on the activities of the RA Investigative Committee in 2025 at the April 16 session of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the RA NA.
Presenting the report on the activity of the structure in 2025, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee noted that 90,931 criminal proceedings were examined during the reporting period, compared to 85,341 in the same period of the previous year, that is, an increase of 5,590 proceedings or 6.5%. Out of 90,931 criminal proceedings, 69,694 were resolved, compared to 63,211 last year, that is, resolved criminal proceedings increased by 6,483 or 10.2%.
Artur Poghosyan, referring to the criminal proceedings with judicial endings, noted that the number of proceedings sent to the court increased by 2,825 or 23.8% compared to the previous year. Thus, out of 41,761 completed criminal proceedings, 14,650 were sent to the court with an indictment against 15,533 persons (in 2024: 11,825 criminal proceedings against 12,805 persons).
During his speech, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee also referred to the recovery of property damage caused by completed and unfinished proceedings, noting that during 2025, an unprecedented 47 billion 129 million 552 thousand AMD damage recovery was recorded, which exceeds the previous year’s indicator by 8 billion 41 million 225 thousand AMD (in 2024: 39 billion 118 million 327 thousand AMD).
Referring to the cases related to military service, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee emphasized that no cases of murder related to the service were recorded (in 2024: 5 cases, 5 persons), murders committed by the enemy were also not recorded (in 2024: 3 cases, 4 persons), as well as no cases of violations of the rules of driving or operating vehicles or combat vehicles related to the service were recorded (in 2024: 2 cases, 5 dead persons) and military cases of violations of the rules of flight, preparation or operation of aircraft (in 2024: 1 case, 2 dead persons).
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Artur Poghosyan, during the question-and-answer session with the deputies, also spoke about the crimes committed against and by minors, family violence and crimes of a corruption nature, presenting statistical data.
