On June 15, a tragedy occurred in the village of Yandare, Ingushetia. Eight-year-old Khizir Derbichev from Karabulok was walking with two friends on the bank of the Sunja River when one of the children, Adam, slipped and fell into the nearby river. He manages to hang onto a tree root at the last moment. Khizir throws himself into the water to save his friend.
The third child immediately runs to call the adults. A family passing by manages to save Adam. But Khizir cannot resist the strong current of the river and the water washes him away goes.
The search for Khizir has been going on for six days.
The courage of the little hero had an unprecedented resonance and united the entire Caucasus.

Search operation
More than 20,000 people are currently participating in the Khizir search and rescue operation. Among them are local residents, volunteers, people from Dagestan, North Ossetia, Chechnya and Kabarda-Bulgaria, representatives of rescue services.
Some are constantly checking the river bed, while others are delivering food and water to the participants of the search operation. In the non-stop search operation, every participant is providing immeasurable assistance.

At the scene of the incident, a 24-hour operative headquarters was established, and the head of Ingushetia, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, is personally monitoring the progress of the operation.
Boats, drones and other special equipment were involved in the operation.
The search for the little hero was joined by the employees of the main department of the Russian Federal Security Service for the Republic of Chechnya, and soldiers of the special police regiment named after Akhmed Haji Kadyrov. The drone division of the regiment is also being used.

Unity of peoples
Today, the river, which is being searched for, is not a simple rescue operation, but brotherhood, solidarity and respect between peoples.

Special services personnel and volunteers searched the bottom of the Sunja River for several days, but to no avail. After that it was decided to block the flow of the river.
This caused a significant drop in the water level and eased the search. Now it was possible to examine both the coast and the bottom of the river more carefully.
