Culiacán, Sin. to June 16.- The former state president of the PRI and local representative, Paola Garate Valenzuelastated that the same day that a funeral wreath outside his house, he filed a complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office, “showing his face as he has always done.”
Through a statement, he regretted that the Secretary of National Defense, General Ricardo Trevillado not have complete information about their security situation and the context of violence that faces Sinaloaissued an opinion on the reasons why the requested protection had not been provided.
He commented that since the night of last June 10, when he found a funeral wreath outside his door, in this capital city, he made the legal actions necessary and went personally before the competent authority.
Regarding the situation that prevails in the state, the local legislator indicated that the state has accumulated twenty-one months of a crisis of insecurity which continues to affect thousands of families, and questioned whether the strategies implemented have not generated a sustained reduction in high-impact crimes.
He quoted, in the document: “I am told about accompaniment at official events, as if the danger ceased to exist when a session ends. That same logic leaves Sinaloa families defenseless when they go about their daily lives.”
He pointed out that he has requested protective measures on repeated occasions to different authorities and raised a series of questions about the criteria for granting security, despite the risk history it has had.

When questioned in the so-called “People’s Conference” about the support provided after the incident, Trevilla Trejo avoided confirming whether he would be granted protection with federal elements and described the procedure to follow.
General Trevilla said that from the first moment contact had been established with the deputy, that the state coordinator would have intervened and that this analysis was carried out to coordinate actions and emphasized that there was “permanent, direct closeness” and that they kept up to date with the legislator.
