As a result of the crash, seven police officers from the UDEP-7 of El Paraíso died at the scene. The agents were traveling on an institutional bus after receiving new uniforms.
Deputy Commissioner Darwin Hernández, head of the SIAT, reported that initial tests ruled out the presence of alcohol in the driver; However, the authorities will carry out toxicological tests to determine if there was consumption of drugs or other substances.
Likewise, he indicated that ten injured people were transferred to healthcare centers in Tegucigalpa and another 16 received medical attention at the Santa Teresa Hospital in Comayagua, of which at least five remain in critical condition.
