THE MINISTRY OF National Security, through the Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU), said it will be observing Public Service Day on June 23, 2026, with the hosting of a week of activities from today, June 16 to 23, 2026. This year’s observance is being held under the United Nations theme: “Transforming Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Participation and Inclusion”.
Honouring the dedication of public servants, Public Service Day, observed annually on June 23, in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 57/277, serves as a globally recognised opportunity to celebrate the dedication, professionalism, and invaluable contributions of public officers to national development, the ministry states in a release.
“This year’s observance reaffirms the commitment of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to acknowledging the men and women who deliver essential services to citizens every day.” The release adds that the public service week of activities provides a dynamic platform to promote innovation, collaboration, and citizen-centred service delivery across the Public Service of St.Vincent and the Grenadines.
“Through a diverse programme of events, the week will bring together serving officers, retirees, interns, church communities, and the wider public in a collective celebration of public service excellence.”
