Lake Sevan continues to rise at a rate unprecedented in recent decades. In the period between June 1 and 15, 2026, the level of Lake Sevan rose by 11 centimeters.
“Armenpress”According to the report, RA Environment Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan wrote about this on his Facebook page, noting that such an increase recorded in the first half of June was last recorded more than three decades ago, in 1993.
According to experts, the increase in the level of the lake is due to the abundant inflow of the river and the significant rainfall recorded recently.
He noted that monitoring the changes in the level of Lake Sevan is important from the point of view of both water resources management and protection of the lake’s ecosystem.
