Representatives of international organizations may come to Hungary because Péter Magyar intends to remove the president from office, Magyar Nemzet reported. Tamás Sulyok stated on his social media page: “The experts of the Council of Europe’s advisory body on constitutional law are prepared to travel to Hungary to obtain complete information about the situation.”
“The planned removal from office of the President of Hungary as well as the heads of other independent constitutional bodies may cause a constitutional crisis and constitutes a threat to fundamental constitutional principles. The heightened attention to the events is evidenced by the fact that the Venice Commission has already expressed its intention to investigate the case under an accelerated procedure. The experts of the Council of Europe’s advisory body on constitutional law are prepared to travel to Hungary to obtain complete information about the situation.
We will begin consultations without delay,”
wrote President Tamás Sulyok in a recent X post.

As we have previously reported, the deadline set by Péter Magyar for the resignation of constitutional officials, including Tamás Sulyok, expired on Sunday. Since Sulyok did not resign, Magyar announced that the necessary procedures to remove the head of state from office would be initiated. According to the head of government, there are several constitutional options available for this purpose; however, he also indicated that, rather than opting for impeachment proceedings, the government would amend the Constitution to achieve this goal.

On Sunday, June 7, at 4 p.m., a demonstration will take place in front of the Sándor Palace in Budapest, the official residence of the head of state, under the slogan “Do not Be Afraid! – Rally of Solidarity for the Heads of State Institutions in Hungary.” The event’s organizers stated that their goal is to
stand up for those heads of state institutions whose resignation Magyar has previously demanded.
Viktor Orbán has pledged his support for the solidarity rally on his social media page.
I support them as well. Everything has its limits,”
the FIDESZ chairman emphasized.
