Vida Ognjenović on the case of Borka Božović: Are yellow tapes being prepared, are we already in prison when the biographies of honorable families are made into Udba files – Culture

What are the days and nights of long knives, using the vocabulary of those from the returned plane. Do we still live in a country where laws and civil rights apply, or are all of them being trampled by employed thugs, in places where professions are sought after – says academician Vida Ognjenović for Danas.

With these words, the writer, theater director, president of the Serbian PEN Center and professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade comments on the nationalist targeting of Borka Božović, art historian and director of Haos Gallery, and her family, in the weekly show Hit Tweet of Pink Television, which was thematically dedicated to “anti-Serbs in Serbia”.

Police Minister Ivica Dačić and Vladislav Dajković, a politician from Montenegro and president of the Free Montenegro party, spoke about this in the studio, and the Božović family was singled out as an example of the “subversive action of the extended hand of former Montenegrin president Milo Đukanović”.

The reason for the show was, in fact, a recent event at the airport in Tivat, when a team of 87 men from Serbia with a criminal record were not allowed to enter Montenegro, to the EU and Western Balkans Summit in Tivat, where regime banners “Serbia wins” were found.

And as proof of her claim against the Božović family, the show’s author and presenter Verica Bradić, brandishing the weekend edition of Danas, quoted Borka Božović’s text published in our Dnevnik column under the title “The sentence from the nineties again: “You should all be expelled from Serbia”.

Along with the “analysis” of the text, she also started targeting her husband, Dragoslav Zeko Božović, a two-time vice-champion of Europe in karate, a multiple champion of Serbia and Yugoslavia, coach of the former Yugoslav national team, a political scientist by education, who was also a member of the Democratic Party in the National Assembly of Serbia.

Following on from them, Balša Božović, their son, the former head of DS councilors in the Belgrade Assembly and a member of parliament in the Republic Assembly, today the president of the Executive Board of the Academy for the Development of Democracy, was also targeted.

The conclusion of the team in the studio was that “as Montenegrins, they got everything in Serbia, almost for free, and yet they are “participating in the destruction of our country”. Dajković even asked the question to Dacic, “Why don’t you expel them, why are you keeping them here?”. And with all these comments, private photos of the Božović family were shown on the screen, as if in a time machine from the Nazi era.

    – To thank Borka Božović in such a way, a woman who has earned a place among the first in the profession, the founder and director of the unique drawing gallery in the country, is terrifying. The gallery he runs is one of the best among its kind in Europe, and gathers artists from all over the world.

Even today, when that excellent institution, which the city should be proud of, is celebrating thirty years of excellent work, Borka Božović and her family are called out with shameless threats and lies by some UDBE student, trained to turn every great biography into a file with dirty insults from his rat arsenal.

Vida Ognjenović asks if yellow tapes are being prepared for anyone who is not in the mood of those who incriminate data about us.

    – Are we all under suspicion, or are we already in prison? Is Serbia a dungeon, as Hamlet says about Denmark. This public incrimination of a virtuous family and making a dossier out of a biography is not an unpunished practice in any legal state. Those of you who dare to market your envy as doubt about the top biographies and exemplary family of a humanist and sports champion must stop.

You are not the one issuing the warrants. Hello, haven’t you dried out a bit? Start taking care of your own resumes. There are things that cannot be washed, and the least that can be washed with violence – points out Vida Ogjenović.
