The banner consists of the following line: “The death of 33 women in May is suspicious, the government’s negligence is undoubtedly!” The statement was included.
In the written statement made by the platform, it was stated that “Those who attack our rights instead of implementing policies that will keep women alive should know: We will not leave any suspicious female deaths in the dark. We will hold those who are negligent to account.”
The platform’s May data included the following information regarding femicide:
– This month, 16 femicides were committed and 33 women were found dead in suspicious circumstances. Of the 16 women killed, 1 was killed with economic excuses and 1 with the excuse of having a crisis. It could not be determined under what pretext 14 of them were killed.
– The failure to determine the excuse under which 14 women were killed is a result of violence against women and femicide being rendered invisible. – 9 of the women killed this month were killed with firearms, 3 with cutting tools, 1 by strangulation, 1 by burning, and 2 by beating. 56% of women killed this month were killed with a firearm.
